Residential & Commercial Spray Foam Solutions

It’s Time for an Attic Insulation Upgrade

Condensation, uncomfortable rooms, and high energy bills are just a few signs that your attic is calling for a more effective insulation solution. We all know hot air rises, and a thin layer of drywall or traditional insulation won’t stop air from leaking out of your space.
Luckily, Healthy Homes can help.

How can I tell if my attic needs a spray foam insulation upgrade?

Older homes typically have older insulation products that were not designed to create an airtight barrier. In fact, some older homes don’t even have insulation in their attics. And when they do, the R-value of their insulation is significantly lower than spray foam insulation.

Worst of all, traditional forms of insulation, such as loose fill or batt insulation, deteriorate over time. In fact, spray foam is the only type of insulation that does not deteriorate over time. Once installed, spray foam insulation creates an air seal, vapor barrier, and superior R value that will stand the test of time. We guarantee it!

Whether new or old, your attic could benefit from spray insulation if:

  • You see signs of mold, mildew, rodents, or pests
  • You have ice dams
  • You have water damage
  • Rooms below you attic space feel drafty, too hot, or too cold

What To Expect - Our Approach

We’ve designed all of our insulation services to require as little involvement from our clients as possible. After we provide your project estimate, we’ll remove any existing insulation from your attic, vacuuming and disposing of it properly.

After the attic is prepped, we’ll mix the foam insulation in our van and spray the foam in your attic space. The entire process is minimally invasive and relatively quick. Best of all, we use a product with minimal off-gassing, so you’ll be back in your home within 2-3 hours after applying. It’s really that simple.

Why do you have to remove my old insulation?

When it comes to insulation, proper circulation is essential. There must be a proper air barrier to prevent air from escaping from your roof. Other forms of insulation, such as batt or blanket insulation, are not installed with an airtight barrier.

This old insulation not only prohibits proper air flow, but over time it may become contaminated by dust, moisture, mold or mildew. It’s important we remove your old insulation before applying your new spray foam insulation to ensure your attic is 100% airtight and thoroughly insulated.
